Clare Evans is an artist based in Westgate-on-Sea.
Projects often begin with people and relationships, developing into portraits, drawings, and events. Grounded in close observation and lived experience, her recent work examines themes such as motherhood, friendship and most recently, step-motherhood.
She paints with oils, household emulsion, and acrylic and often draws over the top with charcoal, and pastels, to add more texture and vibrancy.
Alongside her studio practice, she has spent over twenty years working across art institutions, live events, and wellbeing, including collaborative projects with Artist Briefs at Tate Modern and ongoing work with Tate Lates.
